A note from the Superintendent regarding curriculum brochures:

Dear Parents:

Welcome to the Dieringer School District.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to serve you and your student this year.  The Dieringer School District is dedicated to offering students a strong curriculum, which provides both a firm foundation in the basics, as well as the ability to learn and apply new skills throughout their lives.  We can do this with your active involvement.  Research has demonstrated that the school and family, working together, can provide students with the help they need to be successful in school and in their future.

The District’s curriculum offerings, instructional practices and student assessments are carefully aligned with the standards established in the Washington State Basic Education Act of 1993.  The Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) provide an overview of what students should know and be able to do in grades K-10.

The Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) provide an overview of what students should know and be able to do in grades K-8, by grade level, so that parents, students and educators can see how skills and knowledge build from year to year;  use this link to view the GLEswww.k12.wa.us/CurriculumInstruct/learningstandards.aspx

The Measurements of Student Progress (MSP) is the state assessment administered at grades 3-8 to measure the progress of our students toward the attainment of the state goals.  The MSP, along with other measures of student achievement, is used to assess the success of our students, programs and schools.  While we are pleased with the continued growth and demonstrated success of our students, programs, and schools, we continue to strive to help all Dieringer students achieve at higher levels as they prepare for their future.
