You need to talk to your building tech. If you are not sure who your building tech is, you can view a list here.

Look through the E-mail FAQ. You may find the answers you seek there, if not contact your building tech.

Unfortunately the Information Technology department does not recommend this. If you really need to move your computer, make sure to speak with your building tech first.

Try holding the power button for at least four seconds. That should usually do it.

E-mail FAQ

Q: How do I check my e-mail?
If your computer has been set up for e-mail, you should be able to run Microsoft Outlook to check your e-mail. This is the icon for Microsoft Outlook

Q: What if my computer isn't set up for my e-mail?
Ask your local building tech to set you up.

Q: How do I read my e-mail?

All you need to do is double-click on the subject line in your Inbox, like this:

Q: How do I reply to a message?
Click the button in the message window.

Q: How do I forward a message?
Click the button in the message window.

Q: How do I write an e-mail?
First, click the button.

Next, type in who you want to send the message to. If the person works for the school district, you can simply enter their full name. You can also type in any e-mail address. To send it to more than one person, separate names or addresses with semicolons.

Make sure to type in a subject, as this is the first thing others see about your e-mail.

Now you're ready to type your e-mail. Click in the big white space in your message window and start typing.

When you're finished, click the button.

Q: What are attachments?
When you send an e-mail with an attachment, you are sending a file with the e-mail.

Q: How do I send an attachment?
To send an attachment, first type out an e-mail as described in the "How do I write an e-mail" question above. Then click the button and locate the file either on your computer or on a networked drive. Click OK. The file is now attached. Note that in the Dieringer School District, attachment size is limited to 5 megabytes. For information on files and the file system, see the File FAQ.

Q: I can't get e-mail attachments from my friend outside the school district. Why?
While the main e-mail computer for the district allows most types of attachments (such as documents and pictures) through, it automatically filters out any attachments that could contain harmful viruses or programs (those with extensions like ZIP, EXE, COM, BAT, JS, and VBS). This is for your protection. For a full list of blocked extensions click here.

Q: How do I get a list of addresses for only my school?
Unfortunately, this is a service not provided by the Information Technology department.

Q: I tried to send an e-mail to someone outside the school district and it didn't work. What's wrong?
First, verify that the e-mail address is correct. If it is, the problem is not your computer it is a problem with the receiving end.
