SpeciaWe have about 90 active special education students who receive special education services in our District. In the Dieringer School District, we strive to educate each child in their neighborhood school to the maximum extent possible. Each student has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) which is reviewed and updated annually.

In addition, every three years the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) reassesses Special Education students for the purpose of continuing to determine their eligibility for services. The provision of these services require 5 special education teachers,14 Instructional Assistants, a School Psychologist, a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), a part time Physical Therapist, a part time Physical Therapy Assistant, a Part time Occupational Therapist, a Part time Occupational Therapy Assistant, Counselors at Dieringer Heights Elementary and Lake Tapps Elementary, a Dean of Students at North Tapps Middle School, as well as contracts for supplemental services from Community Agencies, and the Educational Services District.
