This fall the NTMS 8th graders and their teachers are learning and teaching in new ways thanks to the support of the Dieringer community! As part of the Technology Plan, the following are but of few of the highlights across the district: Yoga tablet/laptops were assigned to each 8th grader and their teachers as they went 1:1 with these learning and teaching tools. Innovative classroom at DHES is exploring the best uses of 1:1 computing in 5th grade. Updated computers have replaced failing units in all the schools Schoology, a learning management system (LMS), was implemented for grades 4-8 students to create, manage, receive and submit academic content; it is a safe alternative to email. Wireless access points have been installedto provide better and faster wireless coverage. Keyboarding is a major area of emphasis: NTMS students are piloting new programs, LTES students are using color coded keyboards to help them master this important skill. Microsoft Office 365 is free for families to download and install on up to 5 devices.
