SBA Scores Available Online through Family Access

Detailed SBA score reports are provided by the state in September and will be mailed home to families then.  However, one of the advantages of the Smarter Balanced assessment system is that preliminary scores are available to schools within a few weeks of testing.  We have chosen to share these preliminary scores with parents and guardians now via Skyward Family Access.  Log in to Family Access and select Test Scores from the menu on the left.

The Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) is a new test this year, and results will not be available until September.

Spring State Assessments

Knowing which students are ready for career, college, and life, and knowing how well our schools are preparing all students, are important parts of our state’s accountability system. State testing, which takes place in April and May in the Dieringer district, provides a key measure to help education leaders, teachers, and parents improve student learning.

This spring, students in grades 3-8 took the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) in math and English language arts (ELA). 5th and 8th graders also took the new Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). Teachers use these tests to measure student progress and gain valuable insight into areas where students might benefit from additional help or accelerated learning opportunities.

The results from these assessments are designed to give a more accurate picture of whether students are on track to be college and career ready after high school.
