Leaves
At Dieringer School District, we understand that life happens — whether it’s welcoming a new child, managing a health condition, or caring for a loved one. Our goal is to support you through every step of your leave process with understanding, compassion, and clear information.
We’re committed to helping our employees balance work and personal needs while ensuring you have access to the benefits and protections you deserve.
REQUESTING LEAVE
We know that taking time away from work can come with many questions — whether it’s for your own health, your family, or a personal matter. Our goal is to make the process clear and supportive, no matter the reason for your leave.
Common examples include:
- Taking medical leave for surgery, recovery, or treatment.
- Using parental leave after the birth or adoption of a child.
- Taking leave to care for an ill spouse, child, or parent.
- Leave without pay requests
How to Request Leave
Step 1: Notify your supervisor as soon as possible.
Step 2: Email payroll with the reason for your requested leave (e.g. medical leave, parental leave, maternity leave, etc.) and anticipated leave dates.
Step 3: HR will review your email and send you the appropriate form to complete.
Step 4: Once the completed form is received by HR, we will review it, confirm eligibility, and communicate next steps - including pay, benefits, and return-to-work information.
