Meal Information 2021-2022

We are happy to announce that free meals for all children will be available throughout the 21-22 school year.  The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it has extended the free meal program through June 2022.  This allows us to continue to serve free and nutritious meals to ALL children.

Dieringer School District will have a free breakfast and/or lunch available all regular school days for any students who ask.  Breakfast will be available when they arrive at school.

PLEASE NOTE:  Full meals (breakfast and lunch) are free and include milk.  However, if your child would like a milk only, USDA does not cover the cost of single items, so there is a charge of .50 cents for extra milk. Please have money available in your child’s lunch account, or have them bring money to purchase milk.

It is still important for families who may qualify for the Free and Reduced Program to fill out our meal application.

Your eligible application is one of the ways that our school district receives important state and federal funding to support students in the classroom.   All information on your application is confidential.

If DSHS receives funding for P-EBT again this school year, all students who are currently approved for the Free and Reduced Meal program will be eligible to receive P-EBT funds.

Free and Reduced Applications are available to complete online through Skyward Family Access (login to Family Access, and choose “Food Service” to the left, then “Submit a Food Service Application”.

If you prefer a paper application, you may download it HERE, or call your child’s school office and an application will be sent to you.
Only one application per household is needed for your Dieringer School District student(s). Please list all children living in your home on the application, whether they attend Dieringer or not. Once your application has been processed, you will be notified (via a letter mailed to your home) of your student's eligibility.

Completed paper applications may be returned to your child’s school office, or directly to: Julie Churchill  c/o NTMS  20029 12th St. E.  Lake Tapps, WA. 98391

If you have any questions, please contact Julie Churchill at 253-826-7108 or email

Your Free and Reduced Meal Application includes an optional “Consent to Share Program Eligibility” form

When completing your application (whether online or paper), you will find a section or separate sheet for additional benefits, or Consent to Share Program Eligibility Information.  Please check applicable boxes to select the applicable programs. By completing this, it can either waive or reduce some school fees and include your child’s eligibility for Community-Based Scholarships. When filling out an online application, once you complete the electronic signature in this section, your selection will be noted. For paper applications, please include this with your Free and Reduced application.
